Modernisation of the Courts is a high priority for the Ministry of Justice in this Parliament, including the development of an online court, and considering different ways of using the Court estate in the light of emerging technologies and reassessment of the need for physical hearings. Your main role will involve working with the lead policy adviser for modernising justice in developing the Society's response to these changes, and working with HMCTS and other external stakeholders to maximise the influence of solicitors in this process. You will handle requests from HMCTS to find practitioners to help with their research. You will engage with many other policy advisers to gain feedback from their committees on different strands of the HMCTS programme.

You will help our members adapt to new online dispute resolution systems. You will develop the Society's response to other proposed changes in the Court system, such as court closure programmes, court fee increases, and the development of online processes for some procedures in both the civil and criminal courts.
