The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen working in the Risk and Audit team with the SRA. The team is responsible for providing risk management advice and conducting risk based assurance reviews on the management of risk and control and the adequacy of related internal controls.

You will help the business drive through improvements, ensure that risk management and risk controls relating to core processes and systems are operating effectively and efficiently and continue to support delivery of effective regulatory functions.

You’ll have previous experience of working in a similar environment and possess detailed knowledge of risk management and its application. You will be confident in presenting information to key stakeholders and capable of working autonomously whilst managing workloads effectively with excellent attention to detail.


What we expect

• A self-starter, with the ability to work autonomously and across a team managing workloads effectively
• Strong communication skills, confident in presenting to key stakeholders

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Relevant Risk Management experience including risk identification, assessment, control, monitoring and reporting.

Confident in presenting information to key stakeholders

Good IT and Project Management skills

Able to exercise consistent judgement in the application of risk and control standards;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Ability to influence others and gain their commitment and enthusiasm;

Able to work well under pressure, assess workload priorities and consistently meet targets in a timely manner; and

Report writing, problem solving and analytical skills

Desirable

Practical knowledge of working in a regulatory environment

Knowledge of Risk assurance/ Internal Control Frameworks and Methodologies

Experience of Assurance & Monitoring and /or Internal Audit

The SRA is the independent regulator of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales, protecting consumers and supporting the rule of law and the administration of justice.
