The role:

This is a great opportunity to work within one of the largest operational delivery teams within the organisation to assist them in the delivery of the SRA's regulatory objectives.

We currently have vacancies in both the Firm Based and Individual Based Authorisation teams and will be considering applicants for both teams.

Working in the firm based team, you will be responsible for assessing and making robust decisions on a variety of applications by law firms wanting to be authorised, from small firms to large global companies. As a member of the individual based team, you will be responsible for assessing the suitability of individuals wishing to be admitted and authorised.

You' ll enjoy a variety of tasks in the role from managing casework applications, delivering technical advice to colleagues and stakeholders, contribute to design and delivery of training and identify and make recommendations for improvements to ways of working.

The ability to be proactive in nature, analyse detailed and complex information and communicate clearly and succinctly whilst achieving deadlines are vital attributes to being successful in this position.

Whilst giving support to your fellow colleagues through coaching and mentoring you will also have the collective responsibility for the sharing of experience, knowledge and expertise in order to enhance the working practices of the team.

You’ll work in a team as well as autonomously and will have the opportunity to contribute to projects to continually improve how the SRA works.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Experience of influencing and constructively challenging internal and external stakeholders.

Experience of coaching/mentoring colleagues, at all levels, using a variety of techniques.

Experience to review/analyse/present complex information to a variety of audiences using appropriate methods of communication.

Takes ownership and makes technical decisions on applications , ensuring active use and referral to regulations, guidance and other regulatory materials (eg Risk Framework) as appropriate.

Experience of working in an environment where priorities may change, championing a positive attitude and taking responsibility for implementation and continuous improvement.

Willingness to learn and develop, taking on new responsibilities and adopting a flexible, pragmatic approach to work.

Experience of working autonomously and under direction, collaborating as part of a functional and/or cross functional team.

IT literate – comfortable using/interrogating on line systems to input, extract and analyse data.

Experience/understanding of delivering operational results which support strategic and operational objectives of the organisation.

Track record of delivering results by owning work and projects, ensuring successful/measurable outcomes.

Desirable

Experience of designing learning solutions which incorporate the latest industry standards.

Experience of working in a regulatory environment.
