The role

In the role of Finance Project Controller you will act as the central liaison within the SRA finance team, supporting all financial aspects of the one of the largest multi million pound transformation projects within the organisation.

Reporting into the Director of Resources you be tasked with formulating a financial project plan to support the delivery of the programme goals. Working and partnering with the varying programme managers and stakeholders you will develop strong relationships to help understand and manage the financials and any associated implications.

Some of the tasks you will be responsible for include; producing financial reports with interpretation to the programme board, provide regular forecasts, implement and maintain budget control guidelines, support work streams in planning and regular reviews of all the programme transactions to ensure accuracy.

To be successful in this role you must be capable of influencing stakeholders, have an acute awareness of governance and the capability to provide trusted advice and pragmatic solutions.

We are looking for

• Previous experience of working in a project accounting role
• Fully qualified Accountant - CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and competence to be technically astute
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills - experience of VLookups, pivot tables and complex formulas are essential.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Qualified accountant, with senior financial and management accounting experience

Experience of working in a project environment

Strong communication skills, written & oral, with the ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance professionals

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to establish meaningful and trusted relationships

Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics AX

Advanced skills in MS Excel

Desirable

Prince2 Foundation qualification or equivalent
