The SRA Human Resources and Development (HRD) Team are expanding.

We are recruiting for a HR Manager and a Learning and Development Consultant to complement a passionate and skilled HR team of nine.

As the HR Manager you will:

• Lead and develop a team of four HR Consultants, to deliver an efficient, effective value add, HR service
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation
• Hold responsibility for critical projects pertinent to the SRA and its people strategy
• Actively influence and improve HR initiatives, policies and processes

The role

The HR Manager role is a new addition to the SRA HR team and is a great opportunity for the right candidate to enjoy a varied and interesting role.

Supporting the Head of HRD you will hold a crucial position in the development and delivery of the SRA people strategy. And you will ensure that the HR generalist service delivered by your team, is one that is exemplary and of value to the organisation.

With previous experience of operating as a HR Business Partner/HR Manager, with a workforce of 500+, you will have excellent people management skills and bring extensive expertise in supporting the delivery of business plans inclusive of organisational and cultural change, leadership and management capability, performance and development, reward, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion and employee relations.

As a HR Manager you will have credible experience of supporting, coaching and developing a team and have established technical expertise to handle and support with complex and high profile employee relations matters.

Experience of managing and supporting the delivery of reports - making recommendations for action and having an astute political sense and business acumen are essential to being successful in this role.

The team

This is an exciting time to join the team with a range of projects and initiatives to lead on and support.

The HR Manager role, is a new addition to the team and will be focused on managing and supporting a team of four HR Consultants whilst supporting the Head of HR with delivery of the people strategy. The successful candidate will make sure that the HR generalist service adds value and aligned to best practice methodology.

The role of Learning and Development Consultant will be fundamental to driving the Learning and Development agenda across the organisation and will have opportunity to be at the forefront of many initiatives set for the development of our workforce.

Both roles report directly into the Head of HRD and your personal contribution will be crucial in delivery and driving the people strategy across the organisation.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

CIPD qualified or evidence of relevant experience working in Human Resources & Development.

Experience of: Operating at HR Business Partner/Manager level with a customer base of 500 plus,

successful management and leadership of a team,

management and delivery of strategic and tactical HRD services, preferably in a unionised environment,

design and implementation of people and change management implications arising from process, structure and or system performance improvement programmes,

application of employment law and HR best practice including managing complex ER matters in a commercially focused way,

influencing and communicating with all levels of management as well as ability to make presentations on a range of HR and related business issues,

business planning, budget setting, management and reporting,

performance management,

project management from initiation through to implementation and review,

negotiation and consultation,

management of third party suppliers,

working with HRD systems and Microsoft Office applications to at least intermediate level,

identifying and interpreting key information for the purpose of improving service and performance, including writing reports.


Desirable

Experience of working with unions and employee forums.

Demonstrates an understanding of public duties within a public body.

Experience of operating in a membership, regulatory environment or legal profession.
