The role
As a Directorate Support Officer (Administrator) you will provide administrative support to the Client Protection directorate.
Client Protection deals with the closing down of solicitor’s firms and the actions following closure. They protect clients’ money and return funds to anyone at a financial loss because of a firm’s closure. They also recover costs owed to the SRA as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Working in the team you will be the first point of contact for clients affected by a firm’s closure. You will prioritise and create claims to the SRA’s Compensation Fund, manage payments to successful applicants and update a series of databases.

Essential
Proven administrative experience, preferably within a casework support environment
Excellent customer service skills to both internal and external stakeholders, proactively promoting adherence to the Customer Charter
Ability to effectively handle challenging and demanding customers
Excellent communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise changing work loads, and work effectively under pressure whilst observing targets and quality standards
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst managing own workload
Ability to use initiative, resilience, confidentiality and reliability under pressure
Able to demonstrate numeracy skills
Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Products and Databases
