The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support PA to provide secretarial and administrative support to 3-4 of the SRA’s Directors. With high profile positions the demands on the Directors’ time are continuous, making diary management one of the most pressing and challenging parts of the role. You will need to remain on top of requests for their time, and use your knowledge, judgment and initiative to ensure their diaries, inboxes and forward plans are managed in the most effective and efficient way. You will organise travel arrangements and bookings, take minutes at meetings, provide support at events and with any project management requirements whilst upholding a high level of discretion and confidentiality at all times.

You will prepare correspondence and documents in good time in readiness for events and meetings, ensuring they know where they need to be and what their schedule looks like each day, acting as the key liaison point for the business. This role will be challenging and it will require energy and flexibility, but it will be extremely rewarding, working with a great team of people within an outstanding organisation.

During 16.30 – 17.00 each day and during periods of annual leave, you will cover the Martin Lane reception. You will meet and greet visitors, answer telephone calls and reset meeting rooms.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Good secretarial and administrative experience with supporting vocational qualification(s) and/or extensive practical experience

Up to date IT literacy skills/experience of MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills

Ability to build good, cooperative and successful working relationships with colleagues at all levels

Accurate minute taking skills

Good written and document presentation skills

Good verbal communication skills

Resilience and the ability to work in a busy and constantly changing environment

Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work with discretion at all times

Good prioritisation skill and the ability to manage own workload commitments in line with deadlines and target

The SRA is the independent regulator of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales, protecting consumers and supporting the rule of law and the administration of justice.
