The role

Reporting into the Interim Director of Business Improvement you will enjoy a high profile role in which you will lead and deliver an effective business improvement programme across the organisation.

The programme you deliver will support operational best practice and will promote a culture of continuous improvement inline with the strategic objectives of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Taking a hands on approach you will have ownership of the approach to process design, implementation and improvement, using lean techniques to make necessary improvement recommendations. You will also hold responsibility for training lean process techniques to varying colleagues.

As an accomplished leader and influencer you will build strong working relationships across multiple areas to understand current business processes and procedures to make the appropriate decisions, judgments and recommendations.

You will have excellent analytical and communication skills in order for you to prepare and present clear, concise documents and reports verbally, in a persuasive manner to senior management and on occasion the board.

With an aptitude for driving continuous improvement you will raise the profile of the team and be an advocate of equality and diversity. Interpersonal skills and working with integrity are key to being successful in this role.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Strong leadership capability and people management experience

Experience of leading or delivering operational business improvement, continuous improvement and process re-engineering

Experience of delivering lean within a service environment

Experience of developing and using workforce planning tools

Excellent analytical skills and experience of developing and using robust MI / KPIs

Strong influencing and communication skills and a strong track record of forging strong working relationships with stakeholders

Able to prepare clear and concise documents and present arguments verbally in a persuasive manner, tailored appropriately for the audience

Understanding and applying the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion

Qualification for lean / business improvement methodologies and techniques

Desirable

Experience of working in a regulatory environment

Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft packages

Experience of working in a case management environment
