The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen working in the Information Compliance and Governance team within the SRA. The team is responsible for driving operational best practice and dealing with information governance and compliance matters including Data Protection Act queries, Freedom of Information Act requests (in line with the SRA Transparency Code) and subject access requests.

Using your established organisational skills you will work with the business and other team members to respond to incoming requests. You will process subject access requests, requests for information under the Transparency Code and provide advice and guidance on DPA compliance.

In the role you will be responsible for the organisation of presentations, briefs and awareness sessions with the Information Compliance and Governance team as well as to business teams across SRA. You'll manage your own workload and work on improvement projects within your immediate team.

Bringing previous experience from working in a similar environment, you'll possess strong knowledge of FOI, DPA and information compliance and be able to demonstrate experience of working in a positive manner to ensure a best practice approach.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Knowledge of Information Governance and an understanding of relevant legislation (Data Protection Act, 1998, Freedom of Information Act 2000);

Demonstrable working experience of the triage and management of freedom of information and subject access requests;

Excellent interpersonal, organisational and motivational skills, including team based working;

Ability to deliver results, in a complex environment;

Good written and verbal communication skills;

Good level of IT literacy.

Desirable

Experience of working in Records and Information Management and;

Educated to degree level with a recognised information qualification;

Ability to identify and deliver improvement projects;

Experience of developing and delivering training and awareness;

Experience of working with social media.
