The role:

 As a Procurement Contract Assistant, you will be integral part of the Shared Services Procurement Contract Management team, providing thorough contract management and supporting the Procurement Contract Managers.

In this role, you will need to build working relationships internally and externally whilst supporting new and existing contracts in an end to end process. You will be accountable for being part of supplier reviews and demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset.

You will work with Procurement Administration to provide a high-quality service and working effectively to support the procurement service. You will be producing concise and easy to follow documents, where you will be able to demonstrate your first-rate communication skills.

This role will involve working within a team, providing cover and demonstrating flexibility in the way in which you approach your work. You will gain exposure to various areas, including procurement, risk and contract management, enabling you to develop a range of skills.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Experience of providing support to a procurement and contracts function

Basic knowledge of supplier relationship management

MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Access – intermediate level

Numerate and able to understand quotes and invoices

Document production skills – to produce clear, well formatted documentation to high standards

A good team player – willing and able to assist customers and colleagues and flexibility to cover for others

Desirable

Experience of monitoring provider performance against SLAs and KPIs

Experience of on boarding new suppliers and implementing the agreed governance model

Excellent verbal and written communications skills which can be used to deal with senior managers and key customers at a business level

Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively and support this in others

Coaching and influencing skills

Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply/ IACCM or working towards

Degree or equivalent qualification/ experience.
