Legal & Enforcement deals with interventions into legal practices, that is the closing down of firms, and the instigation of disciplinary proceeding at the Disciplinary Tribunal. The directorate deals with the aftermath of these actions, ensuring that clients' monies are protected, and that anyone who has lost money as a result of this closure has these monies returned to them, and that any costs due to the SRA for their work are recovered as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The Directorate Support Officer will work as part of the team in the Directorate Support Unit which provided administrative support to the teams, including the triaging and creation of claims, managing of databases, and acting as the first point of contact for clients affected by a firms closure.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Proven administrative experience, preferably within a casework support environment

Excellent customer service skills to both internal and external stakeholders, proactively promoting adherence to the Customer Charter

Ability to effectively handle challenging and demanding customers

Excellent communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing

Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise changing work loads, and work effectively under pressure whilst observing targets and quality standards

Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst managing own workload

Ability to use initiative, resilience, confidentiality and reliability under pressure

Able to demonstrate numeracy skills

Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Products and Databases

Desirable

GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
