The role
The Directorate Support Officer works as part of the team in the Directorate Support Unit, providing administrative support to the wider teams. This includes the prioritising and creation of claims, managing of databases and acting as the first point of contact for clients affected by a firms closure.
An interesting and varied role which can at times be challenging, demanding and require a high level of sensitivity.
Legal & Enforcement deals with the closing down of firms and the instigation of disciplinary proceeding at the Disciplinary Tribunal. The directorate deals with the aftermath of these actions, ensuring that clients' monies are protected and anyone who has lost money as a result of this closure, has these monies returned to them. In addition to this, the directorate ensures that any costs due to the SRA for their work are recovered as quickly and efficiently as possible.
What we’re looking for
• Proven administrative experience, preferably within a casework environment
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenge where presented
• Strong organisational skills offering flexibility and the ability to prioritise
• Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Ability to use initiative and perform reliably under pressure
• Excellent IT skills with the ability to demonstrate numeracy skills

Essential
Proven administrative experience, preferably within a casework support environment
Excellent customer service skills to both internal and external stakeholders, proactively promoting adherence to the Customer Charter
Ability to effectively handle challenging and demanding customers
Excellent communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise changing work loads, and work effectively under pressure whilst observing targets and quality standards
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst managing own workload
Ability to use initiative, resilience, confidentiality and reliability under pressure
Able to demonstrate numeracy skills
Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Products and Databases
