The role
As an administrator in the Central Admin Unit of the SRA you will be one of the first points of contact for reports of professional misconduct by Solicitors. You will answer telephone calls, written enquiries and general correspondence from customers, stakeholders and internal business units. You will need to be customer focussed and able to professionally handle challenging and demanding individuals.

The role offers variety with over 50 different work streams for you to follow. You will create electronic files, allocate work and process information through a risk assessment procedure. You need to be comfortable with re-assessing your workload on a daily basis to accommodate changing work priorities as well as the flexibility to carry out any necessary ad hoc administrative tasks.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) - including English and Maths

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Good IT skills (including Microsoft Word and Excel)

A background in customer service and/or administration and data entry

Excellent attention to detail with a ‘right first time’ approach

Ability to grasp complex information in a pressurised environment

Ability to work flexibly and comfortably in a constantly changing environment whilst effectively managing conflicting priorities

Desirable

Previous experience of mentoring and assisting new colleagues

Able to handle complaints and understand when appropriate to escalate for further support, or, to record formally

Demonstrable experience of being able to handle multiple complex enquiries and, take ownership of work

The SRA is the independent regulator of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales, protecting consumers and supporting the rule of law and the administration of justice.
