The Policy Officer - Project Support works with policy managers and policy associates in the execution of policy projects including team set-up, budgeting, development of project approach, deliverables, scope and plans. Working closely with Project Sponsors, the role holder agrees project deliverables and scope, ensuring that timing, cost, deliverables and expected benefits remain aligned throughout the project, and monitors project performance against plan to identify and address risks and issues that could affect delivery of the project. The role holder will produce and maintain clear project documentation.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Relevant degree or equivalent experience

Experience of project management, and of the range of project management tools

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good IT skills, including the use of MS Office suite of programmes

Strong commitment to equality and diversity both as a colleague and regulator

Desirable

Background in one or more of: regulation, consumer policy, economics, legal services market, education and training

Experience of policy development work in similar or related environment

Experience of regulation and an ability to apply regulation to the legal services market or to legal education

The SRA is the independent regulator of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales, protecting consumers and supporting the rule of law and the administration of justice.
