The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen working in the Programme Management Office (PMO) within the SRA. We run projects and programmes and advise the business on how best to use our resources to meet its strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

As the Business Analyst Team Leader, you will line manage a number of Business Analysts, setting and tracking individual objectives as well as coaching your team members. As an accomplished Business Analyst, you will promote best practice methods and communicate clearly with your team to make sure daily tasks are prioritised.

Your team members will be working on projects within the context of a formal project delivery framework, it will be your responsibility to make sure the team delivers quality work on time and within budget. To make this happen you will use your already developed, strong stakeholder management skills to provide leadership and support to meet the requirements of the Programme and Projects.

This is a varied and challenging role; you could be facilitating workshops, carrying out monthly one to ones with reportees, providing expertise in the modelling/mapping of business processes, assessing requests for changes, capturing business requirements or planning the testing of a new IT system.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Several years experience as a Senior Business Analyst/Lead Business Analyst.

An in-depth understanding of, and extensive experience of working within, the BCS/ISEB Business Analysis Framework.

BCS Business Analysis - Foundation level or above, or equivalent experience.

Extensive experience in setting Process Modelling standards and training others in these.

Extensive knowledge and experience of Unified Modelling Language (UML) and Business Process Model and Notation(BPMN)

Excellent communication, interpersonal, team working and influencing skills.

Demonstrable experience of managing competing stakeholder priorities and interests and providing effective challenge.

Experienced in running workshops to define requirements and develop processes.

Experienced in process development and optimization

Extensive experience in managing stakeholders (internal and external to the team)

Knowledge of MS Office suite to intermediate level including MS Visio

Experienced in line management, coaching and mentoring.

The ability to forward plan as well as the ability to deal with several projects and stakeholders with competing deadlines and priorities

Collaborative role, needs to integrate and align plans with broad range of internal and external functions

Plans and organises own work

Experience of working within Waterfall and Agile projects

Desirable

BCS Business Analysis Practitioner level or above

Six Sigma qualification

MS Visio to advanced level

Experience in developing user stories.

Experience of JIRA
