Legal Adviser
The Legal Adviser's role will involve providing high quality advice and dealing with all matters in an outcomes-focused and risk-based way.
You may be required to make formal decisions upon evidential and public interest tests. Where you become involved in conducting disciplinary or other proceedings, you will need to act in the public interest and ensure cases proceed in a timely way. You may be required to conduct proceedings yourself or instruct external lawyers and work closely with them.
Essential
Solicitor or Barrister
Experience of conducting litigation, or providing legal advice in a regulatory environment
Practical experience of case analysis and legal drafting in a contentious or regulatory environment
Knowledge of law, framework and rules within the regulation of legal services
Pro-active approach to cases and projects
Understands objectives of own area and how these impact upon the SRA's overall objectives
Resilient and able to work in a constantly changing environment
