We are looking for a Quality Assurance Officer to join the Business Improvement and Quality Assurance Unit here at the SRA. Working as part of a newly formed team, you will have previous experience working within QA and be comfortable conducting case level reviews, audit and assurance for the wider QA team. Being familiar with ISO9001 or equivalent quality systems and competent at undertaking case level reviews, you will ensure consistency is paramount. With experience of working in a continuous improvement culture, you will have an excellent eye for detail, used to managing risk and capable of making independent decisions.

What we’re looking for
• Conducting case level reviews to ensure consistently fair outcomes
• Assessing the effectiveness and competency of internal controls and the quality assurance system is fit for purpose
• Identifying policy, process or procedure issues that have the potential to impact fair outcomes
• Calibrating to ensure internally, the same results are achieved and criteria is consistent when running reviews
• Able to identify and escalate new issues and action review findings

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong QA and audit background who can demonstrate excellent analytic skills with a resilient demeanour.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Experience of quality assurance best practice and methodologies

Demonstrates energy, commitment, resilience and reliability under pressure

Strong influencing and communication skills and track record of forging strong working relationships

A confirmed track record of successfully achieving targets

Able to prepare clear and concise documents and present arguments verbally in a persuasive manner; tailored appropriately for the audience

Understanding of the principle of equality and diversity, and their application in public policy

Educated to degree level standard, or equivalent

Desirable

Excellent IT skills including Microsoft applications

Experience of working in complex regulatory / legislative settings

The SRA is the independent regulator of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales, protecting consumers and supporting the rule of law and the administration of justice.
