The SRA's Central Administration Unit provides essential administrative support services to its internal business Units and externally to the SRA’s customers; including solicitors, students and members of the public. We are currently recruiting a number of Administration Officers on a permanent basis, in Birmingham City Centre.
As an Administration Officer you will have a background in customer service and/or administration, ideally in a high volume and fast paced environment, with a natural flare in communication and a proven ability for providing exemplary customer service on a daily basis. Excellent data entry skills are a must, together with a calm and professional approach to customers and management of conflicting priorities. All this whilst working collaboratively as part of a very busy team who deal with approximately 500,000 contacts per year.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) - including English and Maths
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good IT skills (including Microsoft Word and Excel)
• A background in customer service and/or administration and data entry
• Excellent attention to detail with a ‘right first time’ approach
• Ability to grasp complex information in a pressurised environment
• Ability to work flexibly and comfortably in a constantly changing environment whilst effectively managing conflicting priorities

We do this by overseeing all education and training requirements necessary to practise as a solicitor, licensing individuals and firms to practise, setting the standards of the profession and regulating and enforcing compliance against these standards.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Previous experience of mentoring and assisting new colleagues

Able to handle complaints and understand when appropriate to escalate for further support, or, to record formally

Demonstrable experience of being able to handle multiple complex enquiries and, take ownership of work
