The role:
The Law Society is governed by its Council. There are four boards that advise the council on representative matters and carry out various delegated functions. There are also a number of committees, a small number of which oversee aspects of the Law Society's governance, and the majority of which take responsibility for working on areas of legal policy. As a Governance Administrator you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Law Society’s committees. You will liaise with members both in out of the legal profession, collate papers, prepare bundles for meetings, and draft accurate minutes. You will also assist in the appointment of the committee members. Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to draft accurately and clearly on often complex subject matter

Desirable

Some knowledge of and/or interest in the subject matter of the Law Society's work.

Some experience of working in a membership / representative organisation
