The Role

You will be responsible for creating, editing and publishing digital content that is on brand and on message, and which raises the organisation’s profile and enhances its digital presence and outreach. You will write, sub-edit and summarise copy for the Law Society’s website, press releases, newsletters and email marketing material. You will be expected to balance a busy daily schedule and work effectively with stakeholders from all levels of the Law Society, while ensuring all digital content is published and displayed correctly and in timely manner. You will be expected to look for improvements and develop the organisation's web presence, all the while following current web standards and online best practice. You will ensure that the Law Society website content is well written, relevant and contains suitable imagery, utilises SEO techniques and is delivered in a timely fashion.

You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Fireworks. You will also need to be experienced in content management systems, HTML, Google Analytics and the use of social media tools to produce traffic reports. Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Experience in content creation and management including information gathering, writing, sub-editing and proof reading

Experience using content management systems, such as Ektron, Umbraco and Abacus.Experience of MS Office Applications, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Fireworks

Experience of Information Architecture and developing SEO content

An understanding of HTML for web page layout and newsletter creation, and experience of HTML editing

Familiarity with user-centred design processes and web accessibility issues

Experience of producing enewsletters and online corporate communications for a large, segmented professional audience

Ability to interact with product owners and stakeholders at a variety of levels and across functions, and manage client expectations to ensure objectives are met

Experience of using web analytics packages and social media tools to produce traffic reports

Excellent written English, including the ability to write in clear English

Excellent attention to detail

Good organisational skills including the ability to manage and reconcile competing priorities.

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Experience of working within professional / membership organisations

Experience within or understanding of the legal sector
