The role:
As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for the Law Society's Commercial strategy with particular focus on identifying, assessing and developing potential new commercial opportunities and investments. You will be delivering recommendations and early stage propositions that extend the Law Society offering and brand for the benefit of members based on strategic, market, operational and financial understanding and analysis.

• Experience of product management including product strategy, product development go-to-market including pricing and promotion and operational, P&L management
Essential
Educated to degree level, or relevant experience
Strong relationship building skills
Strong communicating and influencing skills with senior stakeholders internally and externally
Excellent numeracy skills and experience of financial analysis
Significant experience of business analysis and reporting
Good understanding of the legal environment and the issues affecting member firms
Business strategy experience and capability in all aspects of business case development and financial modelling
Experience of product management including product strategy, product development go-to-market including pricing and promotion and operational, P&L management
Experience of launching innovative products and services
Experience in being able to take a complex area and articulate it in a simple and compelling manner, and adjust messages to suit different levels and roles
Ideally experience of working with a large information provider or software provider within the legal space in strategy or product development role
Demonstrable experience of being able to work across an organisation to break down barriers and drive people towards a common vision in a collaborative manner
Experience operating at a fast pace to achieve rapid results and change, and balancing a need for facts with proven instinct around what needs to be done
Experience in translating complex customer issues into deliverables
Leadership qualities and a proven track record of developing successful relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
Experience of capturing customer insight and translating into compelling propositions
