Hybrid - home based and Birmingham
You will be responsible for ensuring that EIAs are completed when appropriate in the Commercial Affairs and Corporate Affairs Divisions. You will develop suitable processes and provide guidance, support and expert advice to policy and commercial colleagues. You will establish a training programme and advocate the system across the organisation, sometimes to people who are not convinced of the need for an EIA.

You should be able to build strong relationships and have the ability to challenge managers and other staff on the content of their EIAs and decisions based thereon. You will report quarterly to governance Boards within the Law Society. You may also be asked to provide occasional support to the team working on diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Proven experience of conducting EIAs

Good working knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work in a small team as well as on own initiative, adopting a flexible, pragmatic approach to work

Good interpersonal skills - able to build good relationships with a diverse range of colleagues and volunteers tactfully and credibly, and to be assertive when necessary

Good coaching and influencing skills

Ability to deliver equality and diversity outcomes and results by working with and through others

Able to work to strict deadlines and deliver a high standard of work

Desirable

Experience of delivering equality and diversity training

Ability to draft for online communications

Understanding of the legal profession
