Corporate Solutions is looking to recruit a new H&S and Environment Manager, reporting to the Head of Corporate Real Estate. The post holder will be responsible for the Health & Safety and Environmental Management System for the Law Society Group. He/she will interface with all operational teams and outsourced providers to ensure statutory and contractual compliance in achieving high quality and safe workplace throughout the Law Society Group premises. Acting as the initial HSE contact with all relevant external agencies (H&S Executive, Fire Service, Legal Sector Alliance, Carbon Trust and ISO14001), the post holder will ensure organisation-wide legal compliance with the requirements of H&S legislation, and maintain and develop our EMS strategy and continued ISO 14001accreditation.

The role is based either in our Birmingham or London office, and the ideal candidate will be required to travel regularly between the two locations.

Essential

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

NEBOSH Diploma and an IEMA qualification

Proven experience of CDM regulations and ISO 14001 standard requirements

Proven experience of HSE management in a large multi-site organisation

Proven experience of energy management and CRC schemes

Qualification as an internal auditor (IRCA) for HSE

Degree level education or NVQ level 5 as a minimum

Effective written and spoken communication; numerate and articulate

Project management experience

Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure

Desirable

Ability to work at a senior level both internally and externally to support FM strategic objectives

Show sound project management and leadership skills

Be self-motivated and self-reliant, with the ability to multi-task
